Frequently Asked Questions

How are urns measured?

Each cremation urn has it's physical dimensions listed as well as the interior volume (in cubic inches). The easiest formula for burial urn size is that each cubic inch is equivalent to one pound of pre-cremation weight.

Please see the size and price ranges below that are available:

  • Keepsake / Pet urns - less than 75 cubic inches - $205.00
  • Small urns - 75 cubic inches to 119 cubic inches - $205.00
  • Medium urns - 120 cubic inches to 159 cubic inches - $320.00
  • Large urns - 160 cubic inches to 214 cubic inches - $420.00
  • Extra large urns - 215 cubic inches or greater - $465.00 - $565.00

What is the best way to affix the lid?

The best way to affix the lid is to run a bead of silicone adhesive (available at any hardware store or Home Depot) around the rim of the urn, then center and affix the urn lid. The lid can later be removed if necessary by carefully wiggling it back and forth to loosen the silicone bead.

Can I bring my own burial urn to the funeral home or do I have to purchase one of theirs’?

You can absolutely provide your own urn. The funeral home will normally receive the ashes in a sealed bag contained in a temporary box or urn, and should be able to transfer the ashes on your behalf.
